Call for Proposals
IUI Postdoctoral Fellowships 2022-23
The Interuniversity Institute for Marine Sciences in Eilat, Israel (IUI) invites
applications for a two-year Postdoctoral Fellowship starting 1 October 2022.
The Fellowship is open to candidates in all marine disciplines, with a
preference for candidates who intend to focus on field studies.
Applicants are required to have a host who is an IUI-affiliated resident or non-
resident researcher. A list of researchers can be found at the IUI web page:

Applications should include the applicant’s CV, a list of publications, a brief
(one page) description of the intended research, and a letter of commitment
by the host to cover 50% of the fellowship.
Two letters of recommendation, one of which from the applicant’s PhD
supervisor should be sent directly to the IUI (see below).
The recipient of the fellowship will receive from the IUI a total sum of
NIS 54,000 per annum, which is approximately 50% of the total fellowship.
The other 50% of the fellowship, or more, will be provided by the host. The
recipient of the fellowship will have to reside in Eilat and work at the IUI for at
least 75% of his/her time. Continuation of an appointment for a second year is
conditional on the applicant’s submission of a progress report of the first year.
The latter applicant is also required to request support for the second year by
submitting his/her application in accordance with the guidelines of the Call.
